The course
10km Run
Starting East of the finish line, athletes will head North along the road to take a sharp right turn onto the grass trail into Laurier Park.  Passing the Rowing Club, athletes will follow the large gravel walking trail and cross the footbridge into Hawrelak Park.  Taking the first Right after the bridge, athletes will follow the main trail to exit at Saskatchewan Drive.  At the top of the hill athletes will turn Left and follow the paved trail along Saskatchewan Drive to then descend Groat Rd.  Turning Left into Hawrelak Park, athletes will take their first Left and follow the gravel trail which skirts the park and joins back onto the footbridge.  Athletes will return over the footbridge, past the Rowing Club, and then back onto the roadway that passes the Valley Zoo Parking lot.  10km athletes will run straight and turnaround at round-about just prior to Quesnel Bridge.  Returning the same way, athletes will take their first Right along the roadway which takes them to the finish area.

21km Run
Half Marathon athletes will start their event close to the Valley Zoo Parking lot.  Running along the main roadway, half marathon athletes will take their first left and follow the road close to the river past the finish area.  The remainder of the course is as described above.  The 2nd lap includes the run to the round-about.

Crossing over the bridge will give you an outstanding view of Edmonton and its river valley. The course is relatively easy with a few challenging hills and a mixture of paved, grassed, and chip trails.
